Mangaluru, Jul 28: Carmel School, Kotekar celebrated the feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel School with great joy and enthusiasm. This day is also celebrated as Foundation Day of the Apostolic Carmel congregation, which was founded by venerable Mother Veronica, foundress of the Apostolic Carmel in 1868 at Bayonne, France.
To mark this day in honour of Mother Mary, the event was hosted by the students of Grade XA and XB that commenced with a solemn prayer service, setting a spiritual tone for the day. This was followed by a graceful prayer dance performed by the students, which captivated the audience.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guest Sr Maria Premitha AC as the chief guest.
The vibrant welcome dance performed by the students captured the minds and hearts of the audience. The significance of the Carmel feast and the Foundation Day of the Apostolic Carmel was then highlighted through an insightful PowerPoint presentation, providing deeper understanding and context.
The cultural programme continued with a lively Western dance, showcasing the students' talent and enthusiasm. A traditional dance by the students added a touch of heritage and culture to the celebration. A beautiful and a touching enactment on God’s providential care touched the hearts of the students and all gathered to carry a message home.
Sr Maria Premitha AC the chief guest of the day, delivered an inspiring message to students on the virtues of Mother Mary- the patroness of the school to be emulated in their lives. She appreciated the students for their excellent performance and their clear understanding of the importance of this feast. Her words were motivating and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impact on the students.
The event ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prapthi, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the celebration. Sathvi gave a welcome address in which she expressed her joy and enthusiasm for the day’s event.
The programme was carefully managed by Nireeksha Ananha who ensured that everything ran smoothly. Sr Pramila AC the principal, Sr Anita AC the vice-principal were present for the same.
