Mangaluru, Jul 13: The investiture ceremony for the academic year 2024-25 was held with great pomp and dignity at Ladyhill Victoria Girls’ Composite PU College. This ceremony was held to bestow the responsibilities on the newly elected members of its students’ council. It was a solemn occasion where the young students were all prepared to don the mantle of the premiership and discharge the functions entrusted to them by the college.
The ceremony was presided over by the chief guest Harish Padavinangady, police sub-inspector, City Crime Branch, Mangaluru. It was also graced by our joint secretary of Ladyhill Institutions, Sr Violet Tauro AC, principal Sr Ujwala AC, vice principal Sr Sharmila AC, staff convenors Reema Marina Ornello and Rithin Joyline D Almeida, lecturers and the student body in attendance.
The ceremony took its momentum by invoking the blessings from the Almighty through a meaningful prayer service followed by lighting of the ceremonial lamp. A dance with an act was shown by the students of II PUC to show team spirit. Fathima Saniya (II commerce) welcomed the gathering. Principal Sr Ujwala AC was escorted to the stage by the student council members wherein the college flag was placed as an indication to open this year’s college cabinet. The oath taking ceremony was initiated by passing on the light by our Principal Sr Ujwala AC which symbolized the quest for knowledge, upliftment, and the resolve to rise above challenges which was followed by consecrating the oath to the newly appointed student council members. The members then proclaimed their duties and they were conferred with badges by joint secretary Sr Violet Tauro AC and vice principal Sr Sharmila AC. The students were also adorned with sashes by chief guest Harish Padavinangady.
Harish Padavinangady, police sub-inspector, City Crime Branch, congratulated the newly appointed student council and appreciated and advised them to be role models and work for the benefit of the students. He reiterated that the student council posts were about responsibility and authority. Principal Sr Ujwala AC in her ceremonial address, also congratulated the newly appointed student council members and their preparedness to take up responsibilities entrusted to them. She guided them to be worthy role models for their peers by being exemplary in their disposition and demeanor. Her words of wisdom and thoughts about leadership were inspiring and filled all the newly elected leaders and everyone in the auditorium with energy, enthusiasm, and courage to face the world and achieve their endeavors. The newly elected student council members were brimming with confidence to shoulder their newly assigned duties and pledged to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and diligence. The ceremony culminated with a vote of thanks by Fathima Shaziya (II commerce) and compering by Aysha Faima (II science) followed by the unison recital of the college anthem.
