Karnataka Social Club-Bahrain holds hot summer night’s pound party

Bahrain, Jul 12: Karnataka Social Club-Bahrain held it’s Pound party, which was a feature of the club’s mainstream entertainment three decades ago,on Thursday, July 11.

The theme of the evening greet, meet and eat was an opportunity for members to mingle around on a weekend and enjoy themselves. Members took their time off their busy schedule to prepare exquisite culinaries mainly from the Konkan Belt.

The event slow to take off gathered the tempo,as members Teena D’Souza, Thomas Fernandes, Sujay Pinto and Rebecca Britto showed their singing prowess by rendering melodious from the past in Konkani and Hindi. To add to the variety was a dance performance by 2 budding teenage dancers who mesmerized the crowd with their swift and rhythmic dance moves.

Following the short stage performance, the members sportingly participated in bursting the balloon game with each pair trying to burst opponents balloons while dancing at the same time. A team of Anita Rodrigues and Sharmila Sequeira took the top honours.

The members were treated to an array of delicacies as they queued up for a treat of the sumptuous dinner on offer, courtesy of the rich band of volunteers. As midnight approached midnight members took part in another game.

The winner Shiny look elated as she won the coveted prize. Even though it was passed midnight, members were tempted to rock the dance floor as Dj Allwyn spun his favourite baila and Bollywood tracks.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the president Sunil D’Souza.
