Puttur, Jul 11: The first-year MSW students of St Philomena College, Centre for PG Studies and Research, Puttur, organized a heartfelt farewell function for the outgoing second-year MSW students on Wednesday at the PG Seminar Hall. Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of the College, presided over the event.
In her opening remarks, Srimani coordinator for the course extended her best wishes for a bright future to the outgoing students. Dr Vijaya Kumar Moleyar emphasized the importance of remaining connected to the college, urging the students to take pride in their alma mater and expressed his wishes for the students, saying he hoped they would have successful careers and fruitful futures.
Rev Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, in his address, underscored the significance of gratitude towards one's educational institution. He encouraged the students to speak positively about the college in society and remarked that the MSW course is a powerful one and emphasized that the students should become powerful ambassadors of the course. He noted that society always needs their professional services and urged them to utilize their communication, leadership, and other skills to render service to the community.
Jayashree and Vinutha of I MSW rendered prayer, Rachel of I MSW extended a warm welcome. The farewell function featured nostalgic speeches by Mohammed Ashif, Disha, and Pavitra of II MSW, who shared their cherished memories of the past two years. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ananyakrishna of I MSW and Ashwini Rai of I MSW compered. Sheethal Kumar and Prathibha assistant professors in the Department were also present on the occasion.
