Mangaluru: Carmel Preparatory School, Kotekar celebrates Green Day

Mangaluru, Jul 10: Green is the prime colour of the world, and that form which is loneliness arises. Kindergarten students of Carmel Preparatory School, Kotekar observed a Green Day on July 5 with a series of engaging activities to promote environmental concerns.

Students came dressed in different shades of green. Beautifully decorated classrooms with green gave them a delightful welcome. The day began with a special assembly. Students learnt about the importance of protecting planet Earth. After which they went out in to nature carrying colorful placards with slogans on environmental conservation.

There was no bound for their joy as they enthusiastically participated in planting saplings in the school garden.

Additionally, students brought a variety of green objects and vegetables to display in the classrooms. To provide sensory experience to the little ones for exploring this color, leaf art, thumb painting, palm print, tree activities were conducted, in which children took part with great enthusiasm and excitement. The students were delighted as they participated in various Green Day related activities. Sr Pramila Dsouza AC, principal, and Sr Fidele AC, KG co-ordinator were present for the event and encouraged the tiny tots to develop love for nature and all that is in it.

The Green Day celebration was a great success, instilling importance of preservation nature for future in the hearts and minds of young leaners.
