Udupi, Jul 9: Parent Teacher General Body Meeting was held at St Cecily's English Medium School on July 6.
Dr Rayan Mathias, the chief guest, addressed the parents on the importance of responsible use of social media and its potential negative impact on students. He emphasised the role of parents in monitoring their children's online activities and fostering open communication.
He discussed students’ sensitivity leading to suicidal tendencies, dangers of the dark web and potential causes of drug addiction among students. He urged the parents to create a supportive home environment to prioritise students' mental well-being.
Dr Rayan Mathias concluded his speech by emphasising the necessity of collaborative efforts among parents, teachers, and the school to build students’ character and ensure their holistic development.
The meeting commenced with prayer sung by the school choir followed by a welcome dance performed by the students.
Cecilia, presented a report summarising the proceedings of the parent-teacher meetings held in the academic year 2023-24. Sr Lavishanthi A C, vice-principal presented the year's audited financial report.
Sr Lathika A C, principal, welcomed the gathering. Teena announced the new office-bearers. R Prachi Singh mastered the ceremony. Keerthi delivered the vote of thanks.
Following a question-and-answer session, the program concluded with the National Anthem.
