Mangaluru, Jul 3: The Dakshina Kannada District Panchayat Higher Primary School in Gandhinagar, Mannagudda, saw a heartfelt Vanamahotsava celebration organized by Samarasya Mangaluru Vedike and the Karavali Halumatha Kuruba Sangha on July 2. The event, aimed at promoting environmental awareness and the importance of government schools, was conducted with simplicity and sincerity.

The ceremony was inaugurated by planting a sapling by Prakash B Salyan, former member of the Mangaluru City Corporation, and Mohammad Kunjathbail, former deputy mayor.

“In recent years, there has been a concerning trend of government schools closing down. It is crucial for us to pay attention to this issue. We need to give due importance to government schools.
