Mangaluru, May 17: Srinivas College of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmaceutical Association, D K District local branch, organised the sixth National conference on “Innovative Practices in Clinical Training & Patient Safety” and pre conference inauguration at Valachil campus on May 16.
The conference was inaugurated by Udaykishore P, assistant drugs controller. While addressing the gathering he said it was the need of the hour that three sectors like industry, drug regulatory agencies and healthcare professionals should come on a same platform to showcase proper ADR reporting and Pharmacovigilance. These reports should be successfully made use of by the Pharm D students to pursue further studies.
Dr A R Shabaraya, principal, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and president, IPA, in his presidential remarks, highlighted the presence of the alumni who could interact better with their professional experience with the students which will help them to excel in their future endeavors.
Resource person Dr Eldhose Benny, clinical pharmacologist, KMC Hospital, Mangaluru, gave a talk on “Empowering healthcare: The vital role of patient counseling and education.” Dr Salmanul Faris A, senior clinical pharmacist and assistant professor, Department of Pharmacology, IQRAA International Hospital & Research Centre, Calicut gave a talk on “Advance level workshop on adverse drug reaction monitoring centre.”
Dr Abhith Baburaj, DHA certified clinical pharmacist, Dubai, UAE gave an online webinar on the topic “Impact of Clinical Pharmacist in healthcare management”
Dr E V S Subrahmanyam, vice president, IPA, and professor, SCP, welcomed the participants and introduced the guests.
Anaikha, Renie, Queeny and Varshini, Pharm D students anchored the programme. Dr Krishnananda Kamath K, proposed a vote of thanks.
