Mangaluru: NSS unit of St Agnes College (Autonomous), hosts intercollegiate fest 'Aakrithi'

Mangaluru, Apr 5: The NSS unit of St Agnes College (Autonomous), hosted the intercollegiate NSS fest "Aakrithi" on April 4.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the esteemed chief guest, Saiheel Rai, managing director of Sai Productions. Presided over by Sr Dr Venissa A C, principal of St Agnes College, NSS programme officers Dr Uday Kumar and Dr Meera, coordinators of the fest were present on the occasion.

 

Inaugurator of the fest, Saiheel Rai emphasised the importance of NSS, recalling his own experiences and the critical role NSS played throughout his college years. He encouraged the students   to actively participate in various college activities, fostering holistic development.

Saiheel was felicitated on this occasion in recognition of his contributions as youth achiever.

The fest witnessed enthusiastic participation from 15 colleges, totaling 150 students, engaging in six diverse competitions: folk song, folk dance, reel making, debate, monoact, and all-rounder contests.

Dr Nancy Vaz, registrar of the college was the chief guest, honoured the winners of the various competitions at the valedictory ceremony.

The overall championship was won by Canara College while SDM College secured the runners-up trophy.
