Udupi: SMVITM organizes session on Life Skills

Udupi, Apr 2: The Counselling Cell of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a talk on the ‘Life Skills’ on March 20 in the institute premises.

Dr Gurumurthy, associate professor at MIT, Manipal, was the resource person on this occasion and delivered an engaging talk titled ‘Life Skill: Talent +n*X = Miracle’ to the first-year students of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, Udupi. Throughout the session, he articulated essential principles for success. He emphasized the importance of setting clear goals, asserting that without a defined objective, accomplishment becomes elusive. Dr Gurumurthy highlighted adaptability as crucial in navigating the ever-changing landscape of life, advocating for the fusion of innovative ideas with diligent hard work to yield tangible results. Furthermore, he stressed the significance of leadership qualities, effective time management, and proficient communication skills as indispensable assets for personal and professional growth. The talk served as a catalyst for the students' holistic development, empowering them with vital life skills essential for realizing their aspirations and thriving in today's competitive world.

Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal, SMVITM, delivered his message and briefed about the programme on the occasion. Institutional NSS and Counselling cell members and first year students were present on the occasion. The programme was compered by Ushaparvathi and Dr Ravindra H J, HOD, department of physics.
