Udupi, Feb 26: The Manipal School of Architecture and Planning (MSAP), Manipal, successfully conducted the Academic Research Meet 2024. This initiative aimed to foster interdisciplinary research teams across the faculties of participating MAHE institutions, marking a significant step towards collaborative innovation and knowledge generation in the academic community.
Prof Dr Nandineni Rama Devi, director of MSAP; Dr Pradeep Kini, joint director; Dr Resmi G, research coordinator; Vidya Rao, coordinator of collaborations and outreach, along with Dr Vipin Tandon, Prof Trupti Amit Kinjawadekar, Dr Monisha Kumar, and Dr Sameer Dileep, who served as co-coordinators of the MSAP research team.
Dr Pradeep Kini started the meeting by welcoming the chief guest, distinguished colleagues, and researchers, emphasising the critical need for interdisciplinary approaches to tackle the complex challenges of today's world. Dr Resmi G provided an insightful overview of the research activities at MSAP, setting the stage for a day of productive discussions and collaborations.
The guest of honour, Dr Karunakar A Kotegar, director of International Collaborations at MAHE, shared his valuable experience and insights on the importance of collaborative research. His speech highlighted the key virtues of transparency, shared vision, and professionalism, which are essential for successful co-creation in research, publications, intellectual property, and patents.
The event saw the participation of researchers and professors from various constituent units of MAHE, who shared their perspectives on potential areas for interdisciplinary collaborative research. The discussions that followed were instrumental in identifying future collaboration prospects, networking, and forming teams for interdisciplinary projects, showcasing the vast potential for innovation within the academic community.
The academic research meet 2024 concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Trupti Amit Kinjawadekar, appreciating the efforts and contributions of all participants. The event notably aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Life on Land, and Partnerships for the Goals, demonstrating MSAP and MAHE's commitment to contributing positively to global challenges.
