Mangaluru, Jan 23: Lourdes Central School, Bejai the pioneering CBSE co-educational school of the city will be celebrating its silver jubilee on January 25 to commemorate the 25 glorious years of education par–excellence. The school has organized a two day closing ceremony in the school grounds.
On January 25, the silver jubilee celebration will commence at 5.00 pm in the school grounds. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore will preside over the function, and U T Khader, honourable speaker, Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Fr Antony Shera, secretary, Catholic Board of Education, and Prof Mathew C Ninan, director, Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar, will be the chief guests for the occasion.
The event is expected to have over 3,000 guests comprising of parents, students, dignitaries and special invitees. The programme will showcase various entertaining presentations by the students. The highlight of the programme is a dance drama 'Climb Every Mountain', by Ramona Matthias, comprising of more than 140 participants, depicting the values Lourdes Central School stands by. Other special features are honouring the meritorious students, an amusing comedy skit, colourful display of folk dances of India and a lot more, said Fr Robert D'Souza, principal of Lourdes Central School in a press note.
On February 10, a thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration is organized at 10.00 am the main celebrant will be Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore and president of The Catholic Board of Education. The clergy along with catholic students, parents, Bejai parishioners and well-wishers will join together for the thanksgiving eucharistic celebration. On the same day, in the evening at 5.30 pm a mega musical carnival – 2024 will be arranged where the famous singers and musicians from Mangaluru, Udupi and Bengaluru will perform.
