Puttur Nov 25: National Cadet Corps 3/19 KAR BN NCC, Army Wing, 5 KAR Naval NCC and the National Service Scheme came together to organize the National Integration Week on November 25 at St Philomena College. The esteemed programme was presided over by Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, principal of the college.
Addressing the cadets, Dr Monteiro emphasized the paramount importance of unity transcending religious, caste, regional, and communal boundaries. He underscored that without unity and integrity, achieving collective goals becomes unattainable. The day holds special significance as it commemorates the birth anniversary of the late Indira Gandhi, first lady Prime Minister ofIndia and the Iron Lady of the nation. Dr Monteiro urged everyone to reflect on her contributions to the nation and the enduring lessons of unity and integrity she exemplified.
Highlighting the essence of unity and integrity, Dr Monteiro expressed confidence that understanding the profound meaning of these words would greatly benefit all participants in the programme. Participants took a pledge administered by Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, marking the occasion with a commitment to fostering unity.
Vasudeva, the NSS programme officer, extended a warm welcome and provided introductory remarks. Capt Johnson David Sequeira, NCC officer army wing, proposed a vote of thanks. C/T ANO Thejaswi Bhat compered the programme.
Pushpa N, NSS programme officer, was present on this significant occasion. The event witnessed the participation of 130 NCC cadets and 100 NSS volunteers.
