Udupi, Nov 10: World Radiography Day was celebrated in remembrance of sir W C Roentgen at Niramaya Institute of Health Sciences, Bantakal, Udupi on November 8 which was followed by the scientific session.

The program was hosted by Deepika. Swathi, lecturer welcomed the gathering. Chief guest Vasanthi R Prabhu, retd senior radiographer inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.

Dr Naveen Ballal, principal, Bantakal Niramaya College of Allied Health Sciences, introduced the chief guest. Vasanthi R Prabhu shared her inspirational experience working as a radiographer. The special guest Dr Rajasekhar Bellur who gave short introduction to health sciences and a motivational speech to students.

Ratnakumar, honourable secretary of Shri Vishnumurthy Hayavadana Swamy Education Trust felicitated chief guest Vasanthi R Prabhu. He delivered a thoughtful and inspiring speech on World Radiography Day and spoke briefly on Allied Health Sciences and Nursing courses.

Poster, model making and cartooning were evaluated by Dr B Rajasekhar, Roshani Rodrigues and Dr Udaya prasanna.

Introduction to Medical Imaging Technology and World Radiography Day scientific programs were conducted by Dr Naveen Ballal and Jonsi Johnson.

Dr Flavia Castellino principal of Niramaya College of Nursing spoke about the utility of medical imaging technology in treating patients.

Dr Thirumaleshwar Bhat, principal of Shri Madwa Vadiraja Engineering College Bantakal, spoke to the PUC students of various colleges about the KEA guidelines.

Prizes were distributed to the winning students and certificates were awarded to all the participated students.

Jonsi Johnson, introduced the special guest Dr Rajasekhar Bellur. Jonsi Johnson gave vote of thanks and the program was concluded by singing the national anthem.
