Mangaluru, Nov 10: Let us move from untruth to truth and from darkness to light. Deepawali is a festival of lights and symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Lourdes Central School celebrated Deepawali, the festival of lights, by conducting a beautiful assembly on Friday November 10.
Decorated with lights, lanterns, rangoli and vibrant hues, the school had an ambience of joy and happiness. The assembly began with the solemn prayer followed by the intentions and lighting the lamp. Thought upholding the values of Diwali was read out by Samprit Sachin. The students of class V showcased the spirit of Diwali through a skit and shared the guidelines of environment friendly options for celebrating Diwali and also sensitizing the ill-effects of crackers. A melodious rendition by the students filled the air with festive vibes and brought great joy to the audience.
The programme concluded with the message of the vice-principal Belita Mascarenhas. She urged the students to be the light in someone's life in this Diwali.
The programme was compered by Saanvi Shetty and Shreya Hegde under the guidance of the class teacher Harshitha Shetty.
