Mangaluru, Nov 8: Athena Institute of Health Sciences is proud to announce the inauguration of its new academic year of 7th batch of Allied Health Sciences, 20th batch of B.Sc Nursing, 14th batch of PBBSc, 12th batch of M.Sc and 21st batch of General Nursing courses on 4th November and November 8 respectively at college auditorium, and aimed at preparing the next generation of compassionate and skilled healthcare professionals.
The ceremony was presided over by chairman R S Shettian, faculty members, and students. The event was marked by inspiring speeches and traditional rituals. Sr Aileen Mathias the vice principal of the college welcomed the gathering.
Principal Sr Deepa Peter highlighted in her speech that the nursing course will offer a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical training, ensuring that students are well-equipped to meet the demands of the healthcare industry. The program will focus on developing critical thinking, clinical skills, and ethical decision-making, while also emphasizing the importance of patient-centered care.
Dr Nandini, principal Athena Institute of Allied Health Sciences made the students to understand the value of paramedical services and also encouraged students to pursue higher education.
The chairman in his presidential message said: "We are thrilled to inaugurate the professional courses, which reflects our commitment to providing high-quality education in the healthcare field, our goal is to produce competent and compassionate nurses who will make a positive impact on the lives of their patients and the community."
Neha Baby first year B.Sc. Nursing 2nd semester student shared her experiences of being cared and shared by the well equipped teachers; who promote positive learning environment and ready to help any moment.
She shared her insights on the future of nursing and the evolving role of healthcare professionals in today's society. This provided an opportunity for students to gain valuable perspectives and network with potential mentors. Staff introduction was given with PowerPoint presentations.
Fresher’s were happy to introduce themselves along with their hobbies.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Nishel Barboza, HOD of Medical Surgical Nursing. Refreshments served to all at the end. Viola Felicita DSouza, assistant lecturer of OBG department compered the progrmme.
