Mangaluru, Nov 4: St Aloysius College Higher Primary School commemorated Karnataka Rajyotsava day with fervor and pride.

With a splendid culture and homage to Karnataka, St Aloysius College Higher Primary School orchestrated a vibrant celebration honouring the state day on November 1.

The event, pulsating with a rich array of performances and speeches, bore testimony to the deep-rooted respect and reverence for the state's history, culture, and values. The school band welcomed the chief guest, Shreyas alumnus, correspondent Fr John D’Souza SJ, headmistress Jositta Noronha, PTA vice president Victor Serrao and assistant headmaster Liya D’Souza at the entrance.

The programme commenced with a serene and reverent prayer song, setting the tone for a day marked by a sense of unity and shared reverence.

It was followed by a unifying rendition of the ‘Nada Geethe’, state song sung enthusiastically by all students, reflecting their deep connection to Karnataka's heritage and identity.

The stage was then graced by a warm welcome by Ashwini.

The event unfolded further with a compelling speech delving the importance of Karnataka Rajyotsava, underscoring its historical significance.

A graceful dance performance by the students, showcased their talent and enthusiasm in celebrating the cultural tapestry of Karnataka. The event then took a poignant turn as a brief but impactful presentation paid tribute to the famous Kannada poets like Basavanna, Kuvempu and valiant warriors like Rani Abbakka and Tippu Sultan offering a glimpse into the state's rich history and cultural heritage.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as an esteemed chief guest Shreyas, an alumnus of the school and currently lecturer of St Aloysius ITI, graced the stage, imparting wisdom and inspiration to all present through his address.

Adding to the visual spectacle, a beautiful rangoli depicting the map of Karnataka adorned the stage, symbolizing the artistic richness of the state.

The correspondent of the school Fr John's words resonated with the audience, adding a touch to the significance of the celebration.

The programme drew to a close with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and attendees who made the celebration a resounding success.

The pinnacle of the event was the release of kites bearing the colors of the state flag yellow and red; soaring into the sky, a visual ode to Karnataka's vibrancy and unity.

The event not only celebrated the state's cultural magnificence but also nurtured a sense of belonging and respect for Karnataka's rich heritage.
