Mangaluru, Nov 3: Housekeeping Day was celebrated for the first time at department of hospitality science of YIASCM, Yenepoya (deemed to be university) at Balmatta campus on November 1.
The general manager of Cleanline FMS, Ajmal Muhammed was the chief guest for the programme along with Dr Shareena P, vice principal & dean, faculty of commerce and management, Chaithra Shetty, assistant controller of examination, Mervin Jaison Vas, HOD of department of hospitality science, and Hashrath student coordinator were present on the dais.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest by lighting the lamp followed by cake cutting which was prepared by the hospitality students.
Ajmal addressed the gathering and he thanked all the staff for their all support and hard work to keep the organization clean.
Dr Shareena thanked each one of the housekeeping staff for their commitment and dedication during their work. On the occasion of ‘Kannada Rajyotsova’ she addressed the gathering in Kannada and gave her best wishes to all.
The celebrations went on to recognize the contributions of housekeeping in maintaining standards of the organization. The team organized some activities.
The yoga session was conducted by Kushalappa Gowda and followed by formal lunch to all, which was prepared by the students.
The programme concluded with singing state anthem. Fathima Nida compered the event. Srujan welcomed the gathering and Rahoof rendered the vote of thanks.
