Puttur, Oct 28: Sudarshan KV, an NCC cadet from St Philomena College, has been chosen to be a part of the prestigious Amrit Kalash team for the upcoming ‘Meri Mitti, MeraDesh’ programme to be held at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. Sudarshan stands as the only student selected for this significant delegation, tasked with the unique responsibility of collecting soil from various locations within Puttur city and conveying it to New Delhi within a Kalash.
During an event held at the Town Hall, city municipal commissioner, Madhu S Manohar, personally handed over the Kalash to Sudarshan. He took the opportunity to enlighten the audience about the upcoming event in New Delhi.
At the event, Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, principal of St Philomena College, addressed the gathering mentioning Sudarshan’s remarkable selection from a highly competitive pool of students representing various colleges. Dr Monteiro expressedhis gratitude to the commissioner for the exceptional support towards this noble cause. He extended his best wishes to Sudarshan and expressed his hope that the student would hold high the traditions and honour in New Delhi.
The NCC officer of the college, Capt Johnson David Sequira, shared the stage during this momentous occasion. In addition to the dignitaries, members and officers of the city municipality, along with NCC cadets from the college, made the event a memorable and well-attended gathering.
