Mangalore: Bhatkal Gets 10 cm Rainfall

Mangalore, Aug 17: The rainfall in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts was normal on Tuesday August 16. Rainfall was spread out during the day, with gaps in between. Temperatures rose in the afternoon, but plummeted due to late evening rains which continued through the night.

Some places in Uttara Kannada district registered heavy rains, with Bhatkal getting ten cm rain, which was the highest in Karnataka. The coastal belt of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts got between four to five cms of rain on an average. Kodagu district received good rainfall.

The meteorological department has predicted cloudy weather with a few spells of rain or thundershowers in Karnataka coast on August 17.
