Mangaluru: Mangala Group of Institutions hold health check-up camp

Mangaluru, Sep 15: A huge health check-up camp was held at auditorium of Subramanya Bhajana mandali of Neermarga on September 13 on the occasion of Chidren’s cancer awareness month celebration under the joint aegis of New Mangala Nursing college, Mangala Nursing School, NSS Section of Mangala Group of Institutions, Mangala Hospital, Mangala Kidney Foundation, primary health care centre Kudupu and Subramanya Bhajana Mandali.

Dr Ramanath Shenoy, children cancer specialist of Indiana Hospital explained in detail about the disease. Dr Chirag, health officer at Kudupu primary health care centre explained details about the facilities available from the government on treatment and medicines available for children’s cancer.

Neermarga panchayat president Sridhar Chokkabettu, advisor of Sri Subramanya Bajana Mandir Premchandra Bhat spoke on the occasion. District Malaria officer Dr Naveen Chandra Kulal and Mangaluru taluk health officer Dr Sanjay Bhandary participated in the programme and gave advice and instructions.

Free eye check-up was done by optometry department of Mangala Allied Health Sciences. Personnel of Primary health care centre Kudupu undertook the blood and health check-up. More than 300 people took the benefit of the camp. ASHA workers and health workers cooperated for the success of the programme.

The programme was compered by Pooja Ashokan, chief of Mangala Nursing college children health section, Deepti Serrao, lecturer of children’s health department, Sonu, chief of eye department, Naveen, coordinator of NSS department, Midun and students of Mangaluru group of institutions participated in the programme. Students Charith welcomed the gathering. Yogita rendered vote of thanks. Mohammed Sinan compered the event.
