Udupi: Annual Feast of Our Lady of Vailakanni Shrine on Aug 15

Udupi, Aug 11: The annual feast of Our Lady of Vailankanni Shrine, Kalmady, will be held here on Monday August 15.

Mangalore Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will be the main celebrant of the festal Eucharistic celebration at 4.00 pm on Monday.

The procession of headload offerings will be held from Adi Udupi to the church here at 2.00 pm on Saturday August 13.

Holy Mass will be held in different languages - Malayalam at 8.00 am, special prayer service in Kannada at 10.00 am, special Mass in English at 11.00 am, and in Konkani at 4.00 pm on Monday.

It will be a daylong celebration with free food offerings for devotees on the feast day.

Nine days of novenas began on Saturday August 6, in preparation of the annual feast.
