New Delhi, Aug 11 (IANS): Reliance Power, part of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), Thursday said its operating revenues had increased by a whopping 300 percent at Rs.541.80 crore as compared to Rs.139.33 crore in the like period of 2010-11.

The company in a regulatory filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) said its total income in the quarter under review increased by 72 percent at Rs.689 crore as against Rs.401.18 crore in the first quarter of the last fiscal.

During the quarter, it received the approval for setting up the 3,960 MW Krishnapatnam ultra-mega power project.

"The approval of Krishnapatnam ultra-mega power project for carbon credits from United Nations Framework for Carbon Credits (UNFCC) makes the company the power utility with the largest number of CERS," said the company.

Reliance Power has now 12.3 million certified emission reductions (CERs) or carbon credits.

The company's EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) from generating assets increased by 245 percent in the quarter under review to Rs.208 crore.
