Udupi, Jun 3: A state-level event, Hackothsava 2023, 24- hour Hackathon, inaugurated on June 2 at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Managemnet (SMVITM).
The department of computer science and engineering of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology in association with the Institution’s Innovation Cell and Indian Society for Technical Education have organized a state level event Hackothsava 2023-24.
Dr Geetha Maiya, director of student affairs, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, chief guest of the event, congratulated all the participating teams and said, “Participation is more important than winning. Participating in such events will help in developing leadership qualities, teamwork, enhancing learning skills and problem solving capabilities. Innovation and collaborative work are very important aspects in the present days. Students participating in such events will help to develop the career of the students and they need to use these opportunities to emerge as young entrepreneurs.”
Rathna Kumar, secretary, Sode Vadiraja Math Education Trust Udupi was the guest of honour. He congratulated all the participants and mentioned that it was a proud moment to have students from prestigious institutions across different parts of Karnataka.
Dr Ganesh Aithal, vice principal of SMVITM in his presidential remarks stated the importance of Hackothsava and said, “I request all the participants to participate enthusiastically in coding quests. The educational application developed during Hackathon of 2021 helped solve rural area problems.” He concluded by wishing the best to all participants.
Dr Soumya J Bhat, HOD, department of computer science & engineering welcomed the gathering. Clinton from 3rd year computer science & engineering and Shreya from 3rd year electronics and department of communication engineering compered the programme. Kambala Solutions, Biwam India and Niveus Solutions were the partners for the Hackothsava 2023.
