Puttur, May 2: A five-day workshop on communicative english conducted by The Catholic Board of Education, Mangaluru in coordination with St Philomena College, Puttur for Primary school teachers under its care was concluded ceremoniously. The programme was organized at PG Seminar Hall of St Philomena College, Puttur.
The principal of the college Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro participated as chief guest and said that the teachers should forget the shortcomings of growing old with regard to learning new things and it is a genuine requirement for a teacher to immerse in reading for certain hours per day so as to become a great teacher.
Participant teachers shared their opinions with regard to the course and expressed their joy for such an opportunity provided by Catholic Board of Education in faculty development.
The ceremony was presided over by the correspondent of the college, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas and in his presidential remarks he said that every teacher and student should utilize the opportunities irrespective of his or her age and that can only be the manthra for success. He congratulated the faculty of department of English for successfully conducting the workshop. He also appreciated the principal of the College for his keen interest in materializing the concept in the college and thanked The Catholic Board of Education for conceiving such a noble thought of enriching the teachers with communicative skills.
Fr Stany Pinto, campus director welcomed. Bharathi S Rai, HoD of English proposed vote of thanks. Thanvi and team rendered prayer. Prashanth Rai, asst prof. Department of BBA compered the programme. Department of English faculty of St Philomena College, Puttur were the resource persons in the said workshop. As many as 100 teachers participated in the workshop.
