Mangaluru: Session on 'Millet revolution - Importance in health' conducted at St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Apr 15: A session on the topic ‘Millet revolution: Importance in health’ was conducted by the department of Zoology at St Agnes College Mangaluru on Thursday, April 13.

Dr Prerana Hegde, chief dietician, K S Hegde Charitable Hospital Deralakatte was the resource person.

Dr Prerana spoke about the motto behind declaring 2023 as the International Year of Millets, nutritional benefits of various millets; need to switch from carbohydrate diet to millet diet and the importance of millet in health.

 

Ameetha K, head, department of zoology, Vivid D'Souza and Vishma D'Cunha were present. As many as 75 students from the biological sciences attended the programme.
