Mangaluru, Feb 11: St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute, Mangaluru in collaboration with TATA motors and SKIP organised 5th National level Auto Tech Fest (Automobile Contest) AUTOSPARK for leap members from 9th - 11th February 2023.
The award distribution and closing ceremony of AUTOSPARK was held at St Aloysius ITI campus.
Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ - rector St Aloysius Institutions, Mangaluru was the president of the programme. D Rajendra Kumar - managing director Automatrixs Group of Companies, Mangaluru was the chief guest of the programme. Vinod Kulkarni - head CSR Tata Motors Ltd. Dr F Joseph Stanley, general secretary, SKIP Bengaluru, Br C A Thomas - chairman SKIP, Sunil Kunder, president of St Aloysius College Alumni Association, Mangaluru were the guests of honour of the programme. Fr John Dsouza S J - director of St Aloysius ITI, Roshan Dsouza - principal, Alwyn Menezes - vice principal, Noel Lobo - training officer, Robin Vas, convener of the programme, officials from SKIP, instructors and students from different states and Student Council members were present.
The programme commenced with a prayer song which was sung by the students of RAC first year and MMV first year.
A dance was performed by Fashion Designing and Sewing students.
Robin Vas, convener of the programme escorted the dignitaries to the dais. Alwyn Menezes - vice principal of St Aloysius ITI welcomed the gathering.
Chief guest, D Rajendra Kumar addressed the gathering by saying that, "I am surprised by the efforts put by students and staff for the AUTOSPARK. Very well organised and extraordinary event. The future is based on the automobile field and has large scope in the market. India is growing and commercial factors are also increasing. Technology is getting updated with new ideas. If you have to create anything new, there must be dedication in that."
Vinod Kulkarni said, "All who are sitting here are winners. You had a very good energy in you from the past three days. Do not worry about winning or losing. You are very young, take advantage of what you want to learn now. There is a lot of power in you. Promise to yourself that you will continue with the power."
Various competitions were held during AUTOSPARK 2023 for three days. The prizes were distributed to the winners.
Dr F Joseph Stanley spoke a few words saying that, "Today science and technology is going much beyond. There is a lot of research happening today. We should be updated. Winning or losing is not important, participation matters."
Sunil Kunder addressed the gathering by saying that, "You people are the nation builders. When we see industries and companies, they are dependent on technical expertise. Gain technical skills and knowledge as much as you can which will be helpful for you in the future."
Fr Melwin Joseph Pinto SJ in his presidential address said that, "When I came today I felt it was an extraordinary event which was organised, it was an amazing fest which was planned very well. I felt very happy by seeing the beautiful innovations, the project works and the confidence in students while demonstrating models. How you present yourself is very important. You are the one who can make a big difference to the nation."
The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Vincent Mendonca - JTO, Electrician; Umesh JA - JTO, Electronics Mechanic; Ashwin Dsouza - JTO, Front Office Executive; Padmavathi - JTO, Electronics Mechanic; John Dsouza - JTO, AC Technician; Vanditha Rego - JTO; Wilson N - JTO, RAC.
