Mangaluru, Jan 24: A seminar on “Financial Literacy and Use of Digital tools” was conducted on January 23, at Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru under the auspices of CBSE-COE in association with the National Stock Exchange of India.

The seminar was attended by staff of the school as well as teachers from the hub schools attached to Mount Carmel Central School. 

The session began with invocation of God’s blessings. The principal, Sr Melissa welcomed the gathering and introduced the keynote speaker Oruganti Padmavathy from the National Stock Exchange who briefed the educators assembled on financial literacy and use of digital tools. She spoke on the different schemes of savings and investments and their benefits. She urged the educators to take small steps towards savings and emphasized the need to invest on retirement benefit funds. She also spoke about inflation and its pros and cons. She guided the educators on the risk involved and certain misconceptions about Investment in NIFTY. The session ended on a positive note with the awareness created to save and invest.

Teacher Purnima compered the programme, while teacher Bharathi proposed a vote of thanks. At the end, refreshments were served to all.
