Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School celebrates Christmas

Mangaluru, Dec 24: On December 23, Lourdes Central School, Bejai, celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ in true Christmas spirit.

The programme began by invoking God's blessings with a Christmas carol sung by the school choir. On this auspicious day, Ewin Timothy Dsouza of Class V D welcomed the dignitaries on the dais, Fr Anil Alfred D’Souza, chief guest, manager of LCS Dr John Baptist Saldana, the principal Fr Robert Dsouza, assistant parish priests Fr Suraj Lobo, Fr Jaison Pais, vice pincipals Belita Mascarenhas, Anitha Thomas, all the teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and the Lourdites for the Christmas celebration.

Rachel of Class VIII presented the significance of the feast. The chief guest of the day Fr Anil Alfred D’Souza, director of Family Life Service Centre and the guardian of senior priest’s home, Jeppu said that Christmas is experiencing the love of God. He highlighted that Christmas is not merely an outward celebration but to share and care with the less fortunate.

The manager of LCS Dr John Baptist Saldhana delivered his valuable message and instilled the gathering the Christmas values of sharing and caring.

The true meaning of Christmas was depicted through a skit. Christmas carols sung melodiously by the choir group added charm to the celebrations. The students enjoyed dancing with Santa Claus who arrived in LCS with bells of happiness and joy. Siddarth and Joanne of Class VIII D compered the programme. Nathan Rodrigues of class VIII delivered the vote of thanks.
