Kundapur, Dec 17: “The culture that is imparted according to the time and country is education. Real education is the one which creates the revolution of knowledge in the hearts and minds of people of this world,” said Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop of Udupi diocese.
Dr Lobo presided over the silver jubilee celebration and annual day of Holy Rosary English Medium School of the city.
The Bishop further said, “Education is not stagnant water. We should learn from birth to death. We learn from our friends and from the society in which we live. It is not difficult to eradicate ignorance. However, it takes years to eradicate selfishness, low mentality and ego. Value education is as much important as subject education. We have been running 67 educational institutions. Thousands of students have passed out from our schools. Our priority is to increase the values of life and quality along with subject education.”
Vincent Crasta, secretary of district CUSE released the silver jubilee soveneir. Block education officer Kantaraju, Mathew C Ninan of Brahmavar Little Rock School, Veena Bhaskar Mendon, president of town municipality were the chief guests. Fr Stany B Lobo Fr Ashwin Aranha, Sister Maria Sangeetha were present.
The programme was conducted by Fr Stany Tauro, headmaster of the school, Sr Theresa Shanti, student leader Kalyan Basavaraj and school administrative committee.
Students who scored distinction in 2019, 2020 and 2021 in SSLC and teachers who have worked for the past 25 years in the institution were felicitated.
