Mangaluru: Mount Carmel School athletes win prizes in CBSE, AICS athletic meets

Mangaluru, Dec 11: Mount Carmel Central School (MCCS) athletes participated in the CBSE Cluster level Athletic Meet held at Swaraj Maidan, Moodbidri on November 29 and December 1 hosted by Bhuvana Jyothi Residential School, Shirtady.

In the under 17 boys category, Ahan T Shetty of grade XC secured the 2nd place in the 400 mts race. In the Under 17 girls category, Sweeny Marian Concessao of grade IXA secured the 3rd place and in the under 14 girls category Jesnia Correa of Grade VID won the 3rd place.

In the AICS Dakshina Kannada Athletic Meet held on December 2 hosted by SDM School, Ujjire at Sri D Ratnavarma Hegde Stadium, MCCS students transpired their efforts into sportive victories. In the Under 17 category, Kunal Raj of grade XA secured the 2nd place in Shotput and 3rd in Discuss throw. Ahan T Shetty of grade XC won the 2nd place in 400mts race.

The relay team comprising Ahan T Shetty of grade XC, Mrinal Lasrado of grade IXD, Noah Linus D'Souza of grade IXD and Shreehan A S of XC bagged the 2nd place in 4×100 mtrs relay. In the under 14 boys’ category, Dishan G of grade VIII secured the 2nd place in shotput and in the Under 14 girls category, Sakshi Christina Karkada of grade VIII won the 1st place in long jump. In the 4x100 mtrs relay event, Rachel Maria of grade VII D, Jesnia Correa of grade VID, Anvi B Poojary of grade VIII C and Sakshi Christina Karkada of grade VIIIB secured the 3rd place.

The school management, principal and staff congratulated the athletes for their sportive victories.
