Mangaluru, Aug 3: ' The best gift we can give to our next generation is a green and clean world.' With this thought, Lourdes Central School Kindergarten celebrated the finale of the project 'Greening Motherland' on Monday, August 1.

The programme began invoking God's blessings through a prayer song, followed by a welcome. The significance of the day was given by Reuben Brendan Dias of KG2C

The students of KG1 and KG2 gave the message to preserve nature byactively involving themselves in action songs, dance and role play. Throughout the month children took an active part in various activities connected with the project such as colouring a tree, drawing a nature scene, role play, and collage activity.

Principal Fr Robert Dsouza had all appreciation for the little ones for their spectacular performance. In his message he appreciated the parents for their presence and support throughout. He urged the parents to take utmost care of their surroundings so that Children can breathe in the fresh air and have a clean and green world around. He also motivated the parents to take active part in the upcoming project related to Independence Day, and the parents showed positive response.

Later the winners of the various competitions were felicitated by the principal, followed by vote of thanks. The programme ended by planting a sapling and thus giving a true meaning to the project 'Greening Motherland'.
