Mangaluru: Founder’s Day celebrated at Kanachur Education Campus

Mangaluru, Jul 13: Founder’s Day was celebrated at the Kanachur Education Campus on July 13. 

The Kanachur Islamic Education Trust which started in 2000 has grown in leaps and bounds and has secured laurels at various levels too.

Haji UK Monu, chairman of Kanachur Group of Institutions was honored and felicitated and revered by the heads of all the institutions and the students on this momentous occasion.

Prof Dr M Abdul Rahiman, chairman, Kanachur Academy of General Education and former vice chancellor of Kannur & Calicut University was the chief guest. Dr U T Iftikar Ali - president, Indian Association of Physiotherapy (Karnataka Chapter) and former syndicate member RGUHS was the guest of honor.

The founders day was inaugurated by a blood donation camp held at Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre and Vanmahotsav at the Kanachur Public School campus. A short cultural programme followed after which the event commenced.

Zohra Monu - trustee, Kanachur Islamic Education Trust, Abdul Rahiman - director, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, Sahada Rahiman - patron, Kanachur Islamic Education Trust, Dr H S Virupaksha - dean, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr Col K G Kiran - associate dean, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr Harish Shetty - medical superintendent, Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre; Dr Rohan S Monis - chief administrative officer, Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre, Mohammed Suhail - dean, Kanachur College of Physiotherapy and Allied Health Sciences; Prof Molly Saldanha - principal, Kanachur College of Nursing, Iqbal Ahmed - principal, Kanachur Institute of Management and Sciences, Shahida - principal, Kanachur PU College for Women, Vimala Shetty - principal, Kanachur Public School, Linnet D’Souza - principal, Kanachur Primary School were present on the dais. The heads of departments, teaching and non teaching faculty and students were present.

Abdul Rahiman, welcomed the gathering and the guests reminiscing his father’s vision when the foundation of the institution started, two decades ago. Dr M Abdul Rahiman in his address expressed the achievement and growth and the need for Mr Monu to conquer heights and wished him all luck for a private university and the next benchmark. Dr U T Iftikar Ali wished the Chairman all the love and luck and congratulated him on the expansion of the institute. Dr H S Virupaksha said that from this day on we shall strive harder to achieve more and make this institution the best. Iqbal delivered the vote of thanks.

The event concluded with the national anthem.
