Udupi, Jul 1: St Mary’s English Medium School, Udupi organized Social Science Week from June 23-29 for the students of grade 1 to 10. The objective of the celebration was to cherish, nourish and flourish the cultural heritage of India.
The list of co scholastic competitions held on occasion of the ‘Social Science week celebration-2022’ are as follows:

All the creative ideas and art works brought out students during these competitions were exhibited in Fr J P Tauro Hall under the tittle ‘Samaj Darpan’.
The valedictory ceremony of the Social Science week-2022 was held at St Mary’s Auditorium on June 29. The formal program commenced with a theme song presented by students’ choir. Dhruv of grade 10 spoke on the importance of the day.
The chief guest of the program Venilda Rodrigues in her speech stressed the need of developing social values among the school children. The various posters, charts, collage works prepared by students highlighting the social issues of India were displayed on the stage.
The students from grade 2 to 4 presented a fashion show representing the traditional dress culture of India. The winners of various co-scholastic competitions conducted in connection with the celebration of Social Science week-2022 from June 20 to 22 were honored by the principal during the programme.
Principal Fr Johnson Sequeira in his presidential speech appreciated the enthusiastic participation of large number of students in these competitions. The social science and EVS teachers of the school coordinated the activities of Social Science week-2022. Thaniya of grade 8 anchored the programme.
