Kasargod: Girl, Uncle, Hang to Death from Same Sari

Kasargod, Mar 16: In an incident that occurred near Tayannur in the district on Monday March 14, lifeless bodies of a girl and her paternal uncle were found hanging from the end of the same sari. They have been identified as Kunhikrishnan (30), resident of Tayannur Paneyal Kunnu Colony, and Shreema (17), daughter of his elder brother, Sridharan.

The bodies were found hanging from the branch of a tree located adjacent to the compound wall of the family’s backyard. They were working in a quarry. On Monday morning, the duo had left to find reasons for the non-supply of drinking water to their colony, to a nearby hillock. As they did not return till evening, the family went searching for them, and found that they had committed suicide by using the same sari as rope.

Kunhikrishnan is suvvived by wife, Janu, and five children. A case was registered at Ambalattare police station.
