Puttur, Mar 9: Amidst tight security, international secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishat, Ashok Singhal, arrived here on Tuesday March 8, for participating in the Akhil Bharat Pratinidhi Sabha of Rashriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) being held in Vivekananda Engineering College premises here. The car he used was also bullet-proof.

27 select top leaders of RSS, including national president of BJP, Nitin Gadkari, and Ashok Singhal, discussed issues relating to the convention at the venue on Tuesday. The session is learnt to have discussed about the stand RSS has to take about internal problems plaguing the country, and about solving them. The college area has been turned into a high security zone. Arrival of leaders is kept a highly guarded secret, and other than those connected with the session, no one else is permitted entry into the building.

Vishwa Hindu Parishat secretary and firebrand orator of Sangh Parivar, Dr Pravinbhai Togadia is expected to reach the convention venue on Wednesday March 9.

A number of bodyguards trained to provide Z-plus category security, have been keeping a vigil around the campus all 24 hours of the day. The policemen have set up barricades at Kabaka, Kemmyai and Darbe to check entry of unwanted elements. Every vehicle is being checked, and registration numbers of vehicles passing through these points are being noted. Vehicles that pass through Vivekananda College Road are being subjected to tight scrutiny.

Nitin Gadkari left the town on Tuesday evening, after holding talks with top RSS leaders and participating in the meeting organized on Tuesday.
