Orientation programme for grade XI held at Mount Carmel Central School

Mangaluru, Jun 8: The Mount Carmel Central School, Mangalore inaugurated the Grade XI classes for the year 2022-23 on Wednesday, June 8. An orientation programme too was organized for the parents and students of Grade XI.

The event was organized to welcome the parents and the students for the new academic year and familiarize them with the ethos of the school. The programme commenced with a prayer song, invoking divine blessings. The parents and students were accorded a warm welcome and were also made aware of the achievements and milestones of the School.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”, quoted principal, Sr Melissa, in her welcome address and suggested that one must grab the opportunities provided by education to bloom, grow and become a beautiful person. She further accorded a warm welcome to the chief guest Manoj Louis, the administrator Sr Carissima, vice principal Sr Lathika and the gathering.

Illuminating the atmosphere with hope and light, an inauguration ceremony of Grade XI classes was held by lighting of the lamp. ‘Every beginning has an end, and in every end, there is a new beginning’said Sr Carissima as she addressed the students and hope-filled parents present in the gathering. She motivated the students to take challenges in life and to work towards their goal. Highlighting the significance of time, she mentioned how the value of time depends on the amount of effort applied by a person and also requested the students to be in the “Thinkers” category.

Manoj Louis delivered the inaugural address on the topic “Career Buffet.” Impressing the idea of Career Choices on both the parents and the students, he advised the students to choose what interests them, so that one can enjoy work. He also introduced various career options for students and provided career grazing tips. Further, he focused on the amalgamation of career and passion which can promote a healthy professional life.

In conclusion, Manoj asked the students to trust what inspires them and choose a career not by chance but by choice. The orientation was followed by a briefing session on study techniques and coaching by Prabhakar and team from Aakash Coaching Institute, Mangaluru.
