St Agnes College holds talk on 'Devt of Science, Tech in Indian defence-Career Opportunities'

Mangaluru, Jun 8: The Department of Political Science, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized an interactive session by Jayaprakash Rao, former regional PRO, DRDO Ministry of Defence, zonal chairman, Public Relations Council of India on the topic ‘Development of Science and Technology in Indian Defence-Career Opportunities’ on Wednesday June 8.

Sr Dr M Venissa AC, principal presided over the programme. Rao began his talk by giving the audience a glimpse about Dr Kalam and his early life as a student. He spoke about Dr Kalam’s vision for young India, the origin of ISRO, the achievement of ISRO and about various opportunities in the Indian Defence sector. Rao also shared exclusive footage of the making of Chandrayan 2 and the launch along with footage of various missions conducted by ISRO.

Rao began his talk by giving the audience a glimpse about Dr Kalam and importance of National unity. He spoke about Dr Kalam’s vision for young India, the origin of ISRO, the achievement of ISRO and about various opportunities in the Indian Defence sector. Rao also shared exclusive footage of the making of Chandrayan 2 and the launch along with footage of various missions conducted by ISRO.

He encouraged the students to take interest to enter into defence and research sector. As an interactive session he answered to the queries of students. His talk created positive vibes among the audience.

Sona Christy II BA compered the programme. Gayathri B K, assistant professor, Department of Political Science welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest. Glean of II BA proposed the vote of thanks

Students of various streams, cadets of NCC Army and Air wing, staffs of various departments witnessed the programme.
