Mangaluru: SUIET conducts workshop on 'Augmented and Virtual Reality'

Mangaluru, Jun 6: Srinivas University Institute of Engineering and Technology (SUIET), Mukka Campus under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning has conducted two days workshop on 'Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality' sponsored by Karnataka Science and Technology Academy (KSTA), Department of Science & Technology, government of Karnataka on June 4.

All the dignitaries were escorted to the stage by conveners Professor Veeranna Kotagi and Dr Naveen Kumar J R.

Athmika Bhat prayed the invocation song. Prof Veeranna Kotagi welcomed the guests and students for the workshop. The inaugural ceremony of the workshop started with lighting of lamps by all the dignitaries present on the occasion.

Prof Akhilraj V Gadagkar introduced the resource persons Dr Gururaj H L and Mayur.

Dr Satya Sai Kumar, pro-vice chancellor of Srinivas University addressed the gathering about the workshop and explained the audience about current market trends and how Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality are playing a big role in improvisation of the living standards of the people in the world and its future advancements.

Dr Gururaj H L, resource person addressed the gathering about the importance of augmented reality (AR) and Virtual reality (VR) in present scenarios and also stressed on the different applications which will use AR & VR. Professor Varsha Bangera expressed vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and students.

The dignitaries Dr Thomas Pinto, dean, SUIET, Dr Praveen B M Research Director, Srinivas University, Professor Shifana Begum, HOD, Computer Science and Engineering Department, graced the occasion with their presence.

Shreeja Shetty and Vibha Pai were the masters of ceremony.

Two days’ workshop has been conducted by resource persons Dr Gururaj H L and Mayur. The workshop was fruitful and helped the students to get the hands-on experience of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality and also made them get ready to the requirements of the current market of AR & VR.
