Mangaluru, Nov 25: With the rising number of devotees visiting the Dekkaddu Koragajja Adisthala in Kuttaru, new facilities including a well-equipped parking area, restrooms, and a rest lounge were inaugurated on Monday to cater to devotees arriving from across the district, neighbouring regions, and other states.
The parking facility, built near the Adisthala, was inaugurated by Sudhakar Hegde, president of Tunga Group of Hotels. A new bus stand was inaugurated by senior social and religious leader Vivek Shetty Bolyaguttu, while the rest lounges were unveiled by Maganathadi Sridhar Shetty, hereditary administrator of the Panjandaya Banta, Vaidhyanatha, and Koragatanaya Daivas.
The ceremonies included blessings from Tantri Shri Krishnakunikkullaya, and archaks Suresh Kunikkullaya and Shriprasad Bhat conducted Ganahoma rituals.
Several dignitaries, including Moolyanna Balakrishna Salyan, Mahabal T Deppelimaru (vice president of Munnuru gram panchayat), and Chandrahass Adyantaya (administrator of Derlakatte Ayyappa Temple), were present. Other notable attendees included Prabhakar Shetty Kuttar Guthu, Jagannath Shetty Maganathadi, Damodar Poojary, Harish Bhandarabailu, and Vishwaraj Shetty, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Shetty Bolyaguttu highlighted the unwavering faith devotees have in Koragajja, saying, "From school exams to life’s hardships, devotees have always turned to Koragajja for blessings. Over the past 5-6 years, this shrine has seen transformational growth. From prominent actors to government officials, devotees from far and wide visit this place. The new facilities, including parking, restrooms, and a bus stand, are sure to benefit all."
Maganathadi Sridhar Shetty emphasized the importance of enhancing facilities for devotees, stating, "A 50-cent area near the shrine has been developed for parking. Separate restrooms for men and women, as well as a lounge with bathing facilities, have been built to ensure comfort for devotees. The number of devotees visiting from within and outside the district is increasing daily, and we aim to provide a seamless experience."
Moolyanna Balakrishna Salyan shared insights into the history of the shrine, saying, "The Kolaseve rituals performed here are believed to be offerings to Koragajja, with traditions rooted in the blessings of Panjandaya Daiva. The Maganathadi family has been steadfast in their service to the shrine for generations, and we pray for continued blessings from Koragajja and Panjandaya Daiva."
The newly inaugurated facilities are expected to greatly enhance the experience for the ever-growing number of devotees visiting the Dekkaddu Koragajja Adisthala.
