Sullia: Endowment Commissioner Unhappy at Slow Work in Subrahmanya

Sullia, Feb 16: State endowments commissioner, Dr Nandakumar, visited Subrhamanya temple in the taluk on Tuesday Februar6y 15. Expressing his anger at the slow pace of the ongoing master plan work in the temple complex, he directed the concerned to ensure that the work moves at greater speed and is completed as per time schedule.

He noted that the work of the ‘Sarpa Samskara hall’ has been completed. Noting that the path to the hall is congested, he directed for the construction of a proper road within two weeks. He asked the officials to give added importance to hygiene and include plans for well-equipped bathrooms and underground drainage works in the next phase of work. He also wanted the officials to address hitches they are facing in respect of widening of the narrow road leading to the temple, and widen the road within the next two months.

He directed the concerned to use make-shift roads for completing the buildings, and then build proper roads. The commissioner also felt the need for setting up of a Mescom sub-station for ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the temple complex. He instructed the contractors to complete all first phase work before March 31 and hand them over to the temple.

PWD chief engineer, Balakrishna Gowda and his team, who have been supervising the work, representatives of CCCL, which is executing the contract, administrative officer of the temple, Dr Harish Kumar, executive officer, Ningaiah, president of Master Plan Advisory Committee, T Venkataramana Bhat, and others were present.
