Mangaluru: Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing organizes Women's Day

Mangaluru, Mar 15: The department of Obstetrics and Gynecological Nursing at Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing celebrated International Women's Day on March 15, with the theme 'GENDER EQUALITY TODAY FOR SUSTAINABLE TOMORROW' at the Laxmi Memorial College Of Nursing auditorium.

Ashritha P Shetty, director, Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, M Kavitha S Shastri, Lions Past district governer, retired principal, Gujarati Mahajan School as chief guest, Dr Larissa Martha Sam's, principal, Laxmi Memorial College Of Nursing, Dr Theresa Leonilda Mendonca, vice-principal, Laxmi Memorial College Of Nursing, professor Sandhya D'Almeida, programme coordinator, welcomed the gathering. On International Women's Day, M Kavitha S Shastri addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of all women developing self-confidence. Cooking without fire competition was held at Mothi Mahal in Mangaluru, prizes were awarded.

Neena Umesh, the former lecturer of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust, was honoured on International Women's Day. Sofiya Riyana proposed a vote of thanks, and Kavana compered the programme. The programme included faculty from the Laxmi Memorial Education Trust.
