Shimoga, Jan 19: State BJP president, K S Eshwarappa, accused the state Governor of playing to the designs of the opposition parties, instead of lending support to the development programmes of the state government. He said that the Governor has become the main stumbling block in the development of the state.
“The opposition leaders have an eye on the chair of the Chief Minister. They want to somehow unseat Yeddyyurappa and take over that position, through a well-organized conspiracy. They are getting encouragement and support from the Governor,” he said.
He advised the Governor to introspect about the dignity, responsibilities and status of his position and mend his ways. He warned that discussions will be held at the party forums about the desirability of launching a fight against the behaviour of the Governor. He accused the Congress and the JDS of being worried about the prospects of the BJP coming to power in the next election too, if the government is allowed to function properly. “Because of this fear, they are not allowing the assembly sessions to be conducted properly,” he felt.
