Mangaluru, Mar 11: NSS unit of St Agnes College planned to organize the annual NSS Camp for the academic year 2021-22 at Kelarai Church premises from March 9 to 15.The place for the NSS activities would be Amrithlalji High School, Kelarai.
Camp inaugural programme was held on March 9 at 6.30 PM. The programme was presided by St Agnes College principal Sr Dr M Venissa A C, the inaguarator of the programme was Dhanavanthi V (president, Neermarga Grama Panchayat). The guest of honour was Fr Joseph Mascarenhas (priest, St Anne’s Church, Kelarai). The other dignitaries present for the program were Sr Dr Lydiya A C (joint secretary , St Agnes College, Mangaluru), Sr Carmel Rita A C (administrator, St Agnes College, Mangaluru), Michael Anthony (member of Neermarga Grama Panchayat), Sr Anitha D’Souza (headmistress, Amrithlalji High School, Kelarai), Santhosh D’Costa (vice president, St Anne’s Church Parish Council, Kelarai) and Ujwala (vice president, Parent Teacher Association, St Agnes College, Mangaluru).
Kavya and Shrividya NSS student leaders were the MC for the programe. The formal programme of inauguration began by invoking God’s blessings followed by a welcome dance and lighting of the lamp. Vineetha NSS officer officially welcomed the gathering. Dhanavanthi the chief inaugurator enlightened the gathering about the NSS activities to be carried out at Amruthlalji High School premises. Fr Joseph Mascarenhas wished the students good luck for their upcoming NSS activities to be conducted during their stay in the camp. Sr Dr M Venissa A C emphasized on the importance of NSS activities in the life of the students in future. A video highlighting the glimpses of the regular activities conducted during the academic year 2021-22 was presented and this was followed by a cultural programme comprising of a group dance and a comedy skit. NSS officer Meera proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended at 8.30 PM.
