Mangaluru, Mar 4: In 2019 at the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, 2021 was declared the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development.
The proposal recognised the need to promote sustained and inclusive economic growth, foster innovation and provide opportunities, benefits and empowerment for all and respect for all human rights.
It encourages all to observe the year in accordance with national priorities to raise awareness, promote cooperation and networking, encourage sharing best practices and experiences, enhance human resource capacity, promote an enabling environment at all levels as well as tackle the challenges of the creative economy.
The importance of this programme was also recognised in St Agnes CBSE school in a creative environment bringing the young minds to think better to think different. A number of activities were arranged for the students and teachers as well.
Grade I to X were to capture their best kitchen garden and rain water harvesting plan.
Grade IV and V took up the initiative of preparation of Paper bags.
Grade VI preparation of masks, wealth out of waste and display of Herbal plants.
Grade VII – displayed their creativity in the school with beautiful plants decorated by the children.
Grade VIII- wealth out of waste.
Besides this the school campus is well facilitated with rain water harvesting, medicinal plants, kitchen garden with variety of vegetables.
An exhibition was also organised for the students to mark this occasion which was inaugurated by the school Principal Sr. Maria Gracilda AC.
Teachers Chetana and Violet’s efforts were commendable for the planning and preparation of this programme.
The management congratulated the school for taking initiative and bring out the best with support to an important cause of preparing the students, parents and teachers for a better tomorrow.
