Mangaluru: Awarding ceremony of ' A Certificate' to NCC Cadets at Mount Carmel Central School

Mangaluru, Feb 25: A short program was organised for the NCC cadets of Mount Carmel Central School on February 24, 2022, to felicitate the senior cadets with their A Certificates. Indeed, they were on cloud nine, with excitement and fulfilment, as they eagerly awaited to receive the symbol of their hard work from the chief guest our own, Priyanka Rajesh, lecturer, department of Chemistry.

The programme commenced with a short prayer followed by words of welcome. It was also memorable to all the junior cadets as they were honoured to receive the Lanyard and the Scarf from our Associate NCC Officer, Teena and School counsellor, Philomena which motivated them in their journey of becoming the senior cadets.

The extremely talented, hardworking, dedicated and ever-ready cadets of batch 2019-2020 and 2020-21 were honoured to receive the badges promoting them from Cadet to Sergeants, Corporals and Lance Corporals from the Vice Principal, Sr Lidwyn. Addressing the cadets, she congratulated them and urged them to live up to their motto 'Unity and Discipline' and strengthen the MCCS NCC unit, thereby become an inspiration to their fellow classmates and support to the school and society.

The outgoing senior cadets Sgt Abhyudaya Krishna and L/Cpl D S Thasmai Patel shared with immense joy, their past three years of experience with the cadets and encouraged them to be at their best in whatever they do in life. The programme ended with the cadets paying their respect to the organisation through the NCC Song.

National Cadet Corps is an organisation which strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of our nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of our country and moulding them into united, secular and disciplined citizens of our Nation. NCC in the life of school-going students plays an important role in instilling the values of patriotism, service, discipline and hard work. Training in NCC insists qualities like nationalism, patriotism, discipline, team spirit, leadership, self-confidence and promote overall personality development.
