Mangaluru: Shree Devi Institute of Technology organizes 'Samarpan'

Mangaluru, Jan 7: Shree Devi Institute of Technology, Kenjar campus organized 'Samarpan', a gift of love, charity programme for social cause. The event was inaugurated by Dr K E Prakash, director and principal of Shree Devi Institute of Technology. The students have taken up this initiative to lend a helping hand to the needy to brighten the new year.

The idea behind this programme was to give the students an exposure on various management concepts. The students have handcrafted many products, organized games and entertainment programmes for the same. Students and faculties from different departments visited the exhibition and donated for the cause by purchasing various products handcrafted by the students. An exceedingly large amount was received as sale proceeds from the event.

The sale proceeds was donated to White Doves psychiatric nursing and destitute home, Mangaluru and Snehadeep Orphanage Mangaluru in the first week of January. During the visit the students performed various cultural programmes and the inmates danced with the students which was followed by cake cutting. The happiness of new year was celebrated with the blessed souls of White Doves destitute home and Snehadeep Orphanage. The student coordinators of this event were Tripti Shetty, Yashaswi and Ranjitha Amin of second year MBA under the guidance of faculty coordinator, professor Shwetha Shetty and head of the department Dr Gayathri B J. The saying 'We rise by lifting others' was made evident from the kind gesture.
