Moodubelle, Dec 2: "We should understand that tobacco consumption seems attractive in the beginning, but its impact will remain for a long time. We can lead a peaceful life by leading a tobacco-free life. In that way, there is a need to get suitable guidance at the right time," said resource person Dr Ravindra Borker, physician of primary health center, Pernankila.
He was speaking at the awareness programme on 'Control of Tobacco Consumption', organized by St Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle under the aegis of District Surveillance Udupi and National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Moodubelle PU College.
Edward Larson D’Souza, principal of the college presided over the programme.
Shanwin, NSS unit leader, Dhanalakshmi, unit leader, Rajivi, staff of primary health center, teaching and non-teaching staffs and students participated in the programme.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions. NSS project officer Jecintha Natalia Lobo welcomed the gathering. History lecturer Naveen Koreya compered the programme.
