Mangaluru, Nov 29: The Bharath Academy had the first ever literary fest in the city with the book launch of talented young authors - The Cloud Climbs by Diya Pai, Beautifully broken by Perpetua Periera and a compiled story book of little children - Stories and Senses under the guidance of Maria Phyllis D'Costa, director, Uexel publications.
Anand G Pai and Dr Vindhya Pai from Bharath School Trust congratulated the authors. Young entrepreneurs Sanjeet Xavier Rodrigues, Sameeksha shetty, Mithun Jyothis, Oshin Pereira, Stalin D'Souza, Mother-daughter duo Taniya & Sony were honoured.
Surekha M H, principal of The Bharath Academy oriented parents about the importance of Cambridge International curriculum which makes it the only school in coastal Karnataka to have this affiliation. Many events were organised with the direction of Anjana Kamath, principal, Elements of TBA such as Kids Flea market and workshops by renowned resource persons Dr Malini Hebbar, Lianne Pais, Bharathi Shevgoor, Pallavi from Purple space and Phyllis D'Costa.
The aim of this fest was to encourage reading in children from a very young age and to inculcate sparks of creativity in them so as to become budding authors, poets and public speakers . The fest attracted a lot of people and young children from in and around Mangaluru.
