Mysore: S F Huseni - Turning Ordinary Paper into Masterpieces

Mysore, Nov 11: S F Huseni, well known as ‘Mysore Huseni’ among the artists’ circle, has an immense talent in paper relief sculptures, drawings and paper art.
Huseni born on April 15, 1976 at Mandya district, pursued arts at Vyjayanthi School of Arts, Mysore. He is a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Karnatak University, Dharwad.
His paper art works are exhibited in many major exhibitions and he has demonstrated and conducted workshops in many institutions of Bangalore and rural places. His fame also beckoned him to prestigious Japan Habba 2009, which was held at Bangalore. He demonstrated the paper art and also exhibited his works at the fest.
His works have been published in many of the leading magazines of the state. He has also exhibited his works in many group shows in the state and has held six solo shows in Bangalore, Mysore, Dharwad and Udupi. His works are with many art collectors in India and abroad.
A four-time recipient of Anche Kuncha State Award given by Shanthi Vana, a trust run by Dr D Veerendra Heggade of Dharmastala, he has also in his kitty Dasara Lalithakala award, Kannada Culture Department (Mysore) and Poster Making award given by Manasa Gangotri, Mysore among others.
Huseni is one among the few artists who is specialized in paper-cutting arts like Sanji (Indian Paper cutting art), Kirigami (Japanese paper-cutting art) and has also successfully adopted the methods for contemporary themes.
